At a distance of 120 km west of Leh lies one of the earliest existing monastery of Ladakh, the Lamayuru Monastery. It is situated on a high promontory overlooking the village and valley.

While I was there, I got to watch terrific spectacle of Lamayuru Festival, which also known as ‘Yuru Kabgyat’. Here are the pictures:
