Passengers stranded as flood disrupts East-West highway – THT Online
PARASI: The Narayangarh-Butwal section of the East-West highway has been obstructed in Nawalparasi district.
The section of the road was disrupted after a flood triggered by heavy rainfall swept away a diversion at Jaya Shree River in Gaidakot on Friday night, locals said.
The diversion was constructed some four months ago after a truck damaged the bridge on the river. Hundreds of passengers and vehicles have been stranded on the highway following the damage of the diversion.
It takes a few days to repair the damage, police said.
